We found this Anaimalai spiny lizard (also known as Anaimalais salea and Salea anamallayana) in Munnar, Kerala. They are endemic to the southern Western Ghats of India. The lizard was resting on a small branch of a tree, as though catching its breath after a steep climb and preparing to go on climbing. I decided to take a picture of it with my phone camera, which was the most readily accessible camera equipment I had at the time.
