This variety of Green Pit Viper (Trimeresurus albolabris) is endemic to Southeast Asia and we found this one in Munnar, Kerala. The snake is pretty, and also potentially lethal with its hemotoxic venom. It appeared to be reaching out to something when I clicked this picture. We kept our distance, and so should you if you happen to find yourself in its vicinity, for it is not part of the health-promoting greens we find in nature.
